Minnesota LB bodes well at Gainesville NIKE Camp
Blake Sorensen took the 1,500 mile trek down to Gainesville, Fla., this past weekend to prove he can hang with the best.
The 6-foot-1.5, 204-pound linebacker from Eden Prairie, Minn., was pleased with his performance at the NIKE Training Camp.
"It was a good experience to compete with kids from all around the nation," he explained. "It was fun, I enjoyed it. I tested out really well, but I wasn't very happy with my 40-yard dash time. Nobody there was happy with their (laser timed) 40."
Sorensen tested out with a 4.74-forty, 4.25-shuttle, 28-inch vertical and he did 22 reps of 185 pounds on the bench press.
A number of college recruiters have stopped by Eden Prairie High during the May evaluation period. "Oregon State, Wyoming, Michigan, Iowa, Iowa State," Sorensen listed. "On Friday, the linebackers coach (William Inge) from San Diego State came up and we got to meet with him."
