Marshall making strides
With almost a dozen D-I prospects on the roster, Oaks Christian High School has become the Super Wal-Mart of college football recruiting in 2006.
However, the Lion's roster doesn't sacrifice quality for quantity. Behind Jimmy Clausen and Marc Tyler, Marshall Jones is often looked at as the third best player at Oaks Christian.
While Clausen and Tyler receive plenty of well-deserved publicity, Jones teeters at the edge of the spotlight, shying away from the attention. Sometimes overlooked, Jones has a habit of suddenly reminding everyone that his ability plays second fiddle to no one.
Last season Jones stepped up for the Lions' defense on numerous occasions — literally. The 6-foot, 185-pound free safety also doubled as a linebacker in 2005, accumulating 71 tackles.
