Sun Devils land Texas QB Nick Foles
Arizona State landed its second commitment of the 2007 class on Thursday when Austin, Texas, Westlake quarterback Nick Foles accepted a Sun Devils offer made by coach Dirk Koetter earlier in the day, two sources familiar with the recruitment informed ASUDevils.com.
The 6-foot-5, 250 pound signal-caller threw for 2,350 yards and 22 touchdowns with just six interceptions as a junior, earning first-team all-district honors, honorable mention all-CenTex (Central Texas) and academic all-district. He is the No. 1 ranked junior quarterback in the region by TexasPrepXtra.com.
A prototypical pro-style quarterback with a rocket arm, college-ready body and reputation for being an extremely accurate passer, Foles had early offers from Mississippi, Duke and UTEP, but he committed to the Sun Devils immediately upon receiving the offer in a phone call on Thursday.
