Hawkins set to enroll a semester early

The original plan was for Cody Hawkins )(5-11, 180 pounds) to greyshirt next fall. But after standing on the sideline for spring practices, he is anxious to join the mix at quarterback.

According to his father, head coach Dan Hawkins, the chances of Cody redshirting are "99 percent".

The fact that Hawkins is coming in a semester early will not change his training over the summer

The battle for the starting quarterback spot became a two-man race during spring ball when James Cox went down with an injured thumb the first week of practices.

The nation's 17th-ranked pro-style quarterback from the Class of 2006 and the top-ranked recruit from Idaho, Hawkins helped lead his team to two state championships.
