2015 East Texas athlete not surprised at UT offer

With the spring evaluation period ending and summer camps on the horizon, nearly every college football program is extending scholarship offers right now and working to get as many targets to campus as possible for a camp. Texas is one of those schools working to that goal, and its newest offer was to a 2015 defensive back that just recently put on a show at a showcase in east Texas.

Whitehouse's Justin Dunning is turning lots of heads right now, and his offer list is starting to reflect that. One of his most recent offers was from the Longhorns, but it didn't come as a complete surprise.

"He said he really liked my speed and athleticism," Dunning said about Akina. "He said he would love to coach me."

After the Texas offer, the 6-3 defensive back picked up his third offer from Baylor on Friday morning. At this point, Dunning has no favorites. However, there is one thing he'll be looking for when he eventually does start to narrow his list.

"I mean, it's too early for favorites," responded Dunning. "I guess a good coaching staff and position coach is most important to me."

Dunning is currently rated as the No. 53 prospect in the 2015 LSR 100 and also holds an offer
