Hawks add New Jersey RB

When Kirk Ferentz was asked what his team still needs in this year's recruiting class on the offensive side of the ball, his first answer was guys that can score touchdowns. The Hawkeyes may have found that and some excitement in running back Akrum Wadley, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound playmaker from Newark, New Jersey.

Wadley, who made his official visit to Iowa City this weekend, confirmed his commitment via text message with HawkeyeReport.com this morning.

As a senior, Wadley finished with 105 carries for 1,548 yards and 25 touchdowns. He also had 11 catches for 153 yards and two scores and four touchdowns on returns as well. After the season, he was named county player of the year and second team all-state for Weequahic.

HawkeyeReport.com will have much more on Wadley's commitment shortly.
