Prescott preparing for sophomore success

Mississippi State managed to maneuver through the 2012 season with only two scholarship quarterbacks on the roster.

Dak Prescott got his first taste of college football as a redshirt freshman appearing in 12 games as a Bulldog.

Now as he enters his third offseason in Starkville, Prescott feels that he is a more complete player than when he arrived in January of 2011.

"I believe I've progressed a lot," Prescott said. "I know every play. It's just about taking every play and executing against defenses now and getting the game plans. I feel real comfortable with this offense."

The 6-foot-2, 230-pounder completed 18-of-29 passing for 194 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions on the year while primarily being used in the red zone and short yardage situations. Prescott also carried 32 times for 118 yards and four more scores.

While Prescott's rookie season was deemed a success by most, he feels that he can do even better and has worked hard to improve for the future.
