Dantonio on early NFL entries: 'part of the deal'
EAST LANSING - With at least two of Michigan State's top four underclass stars indicating today that they will leave the program to enter the NFL Draft as juniors, head coach Mark Dantonio was forward-thinking during an appearance on Sirius Satellite Radio, Thursday afternoon.
"It's part of the deal in college football," Dantonio said. "You know you are going to have guys leave whether they are seniors or sometimes juniors in this case."
Le'Veon Bell and Dion Sims announced via Twitter on Thursday that they will leave Michigan State to enter the draft.
Sources informed SpartanMag.com at 10:30 a.m. that Will Gholston was also leaning toward leaving MSU for the draft this year. However, Gholston's mother has told the Detroit Free Press, as of 2 p.m., that her son still needs a few more days to decide.
Most observers expect Gholston to eventually opt for an early departure for the NFL. MSU teammate and fellow Detroiter Tony Lippett tweeted on Thursday his congratulations to all three, indicating his understanding that Gholston's decision is in fact a done deal.
Lippett tweeted: "Goodluck to my boys @D_Sims80 @L_Bell24 and @WILL_GHOLSTON2 at the next level.. Go crazy I will b there soon.. Dnt believe just watch lol"
