Providence preview

Mississippi State's return Starkville from Maui lasted all of one game before the Bulldogs hit the road again.

MSU ventures to the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Rhode Island to take on Providence this morning at 11 a.m. as part of the SEC/ Big East Challenge.

The Bulldogs are 2-4 on the year with both wins coming during their only two home games. Rick Ray's squad is winless away from Humphrey Coliseum but are hoping to change that today.

It will mark the first time State has faced Providence on the hardwood in school history. The Bulldogs are 10-14 against Big East opponents including an 89-62 loss to Marquette last week. Mississippi State is 2-1 in the Big East Challenge.
