IRVING, Texas-Last weekends Nike Combine hosted a healthy group of 2013 and 2014 defensive backs.
Most notably were three of SoonerState's own in Broken Arrow 2013 cornerback Cre Moore, Tulsa East Central 2013 cornerback Devanta Johnson, and Edmond Santa Fe 2013 safety Khari Harding.
Analysis provided by SoonerScoop.com Recruiting Publisher Josh McCuistion
"(Cre Moore)showed off great physical skills including the ability to transition fairly naturally, something that was one of the lingering questions for many who had yet to see Moore close up. Moore is a long and lean athlete who looked great in his ability to run with any receiver but will have to continue to work on refining the finer points of his game, and developing his ability to find the ball in the air"
"(Devanta) has great natural coverage skills and though many had seen him as a free safety type or prospect he showed some natural coverage skills and actually was one of the few cornerbacks to match up well with Eldridge Massington on the day. With schools coming by to see any of East Central's trio of 2013 stars, don't be surprised if his offer list doesn't pick up some steam during spring evaluations."
"Harding followed up a strong Army combine performance with another quality performance, showed more ability than most expect from him when it came to turning and running with defensive backs. As a deep safety he can be a bit slow on some of his reactions but that may come from being more natural closer to the line of scrimmage."
One of the lesser known players to shine was Beaumont (Texas) Ozen 2014 cornerback Tony Brown.
"(Brown) came in much less well known but showed off tons of ability in coverage and as he continues to work his transitions will only become more and more of a problem for young receivers," commented McCuistion.
