Blitz Quicks: Injuries, Bays, and The Hit
Over the last decade the Beavers have avoided mass casualties. This is the first year in memory where key starters and contributors are falling faster than they can be mended. The impact of injuries makes executing on the field more difficult than ever, and it impacted Fall Camp.
Just as the walking wounded began to return to the field, the Beavers lost Castro Masiniai to a leg injury, Feti Unga was also hobbled during the BYU contest (the extent of his injury isn't known), and Lance Mitchell continues to struggle against a painful groin injury.
Those three players are run-stoppers that take pride with their enforcement up the middle. As they trickled out of the game, it became apparent there were few answers to BYU's running game. Academically ineligible lineman Dominic Glover is compounding the depth problem and was expected to be a starter.
