Sanders gaining confidence
Ricco Sanders went the entire regular season of his redshirt freshman season without a catch.
For some reason Sanders was never able to grab a single pass in 2010. But on Jan. 1, 2011 in the Gator Bowl that all changed.
Sanders grabbed two passes during a second quarter drive for 23 yards. His second catch was good for a 15-yard touchdown from Chris Relf giving him the confidence he needed going into his sophomore campaign.
"It was just getting used to your abilities basically and believing in yourself," Sanders said. "It gave me a lot of confidence. I've just tried to carry everything over from last year and get a big energy boost."
So far this year Sanders is Mississippi State's fourth leading wide receiver with seven catches for 66 yards playing in four games.
But the six-foot, 190-pounder understands that the Bulldogs offense has struggled of late and needs to get back on track this week against UAB.
