Practice Rewind: Day 3
RELATED ARTICLE : Fall Camp Headquarters
Another sunny day as OSU hit the field for the third time this fall. A few more walking wounded appeared, as Larry Scott, Micah Hatfield, Mitch Singler and Lance Mitchell did not participate. We won't speculate as to what the injuries are until more information is available. James Rodgers was sporting a knee brace today, but seemed fine. We're guessing for precautionary reasons because of a higher potential for contact with shoulder pads added.
Those able to get the reps did so with good intensity, possibly due to the fact that the team was in shoulder pads. Nothing much new from special teams. Trevor Romaine looks to have all the leg in the world, but accuracy beyond 40 seems inconsistent. Lots of time to work, but a big leg capable of hitting beyond 50.
Darrell Catchings, Markus Wheaton and Jordan Bishop ran with the first team in skelly drills, Rodgers did not participate. Even without Rodgers the three above make a solid group. Brandin Cooks continues to impress and I finally saw him put on the burners getting to the corner on a punt return. The kid can move.
Another receiver showing well is Geno Munoz, who I think is a model of consistency. The kid runs great routes, continues to catch whatever is thrown to him and is good up in the air on balls thrown high.
