Eric Dungy: Ready to compete

The Oregon football team will be highly ranked going into the 2011 season, but not because Jeff Maehl and D.J. Davis graduated. One area the Ducks will need to develop depth during fall camp at is wide receiver, a position at which the Ducks are long on talent but short on experience.

Coming off his redshirt season, freshman Eric Dungy will be one of the candidates for playing time. The 6-foot-1, 175 pound former Tampa, Florida star had two catches for 19 yards in this year's spring game, a sign of things to come in the young athletes' career.

Duck Sports Authority caught up with the Plant high school graduate following a recent summer conditioning workout to get his thoughts going into fall camp.

A.J. Jacobson - Duck Sports Authority: How is your body holding up this summer? How are you doing?

Eric Dungy - RFr Wide Receiver: I'm feeling good. Yesterday we had an off-day so that was a good recovery day. Today was a good workout. I'll be sore tomorrow so I have to be sure to get into the cold tub but overall I feel pretty good.

DSA: It seemed like a long workout today.

ED: Yeah, Coach Rad told us we were going to get after it today. Tomorrow will be lighter. He wanted to see where we were at and I think we answered the bell pretty well.
