Maiden makes fourth MSU commit of camp

Mississippi State wrapped up Big Dawg Camp in much the same way they began it - with a commitment.

Three-star defensive tackle James Maiden became the Bulldogs fourth commitment of the day when he gave his pledge to Dan Mullen following the elite invite only camp under the lights at Davis Wade Stadium.

The 6-foot-4, 280-pounder from Woodville, Miss., joined fellow three-star prospects Daniel Knox, Josh Robinson and Joseph Morrow as commitments at the camp.

Maiden also joins his Wilkinson County teammate, three-star wide receiver Devin Fossilman, on the MSU commitment list.

Last season, Maiden helped pave the way for Wilkinson County to total 3,241 yards on the offensive line. He also made 46 tackles, one interception, one fumble recovery and six pass deflections as a junior. The Wildcats finished the season with a 4-6 record.

The No. 17 prospect in the state of Mississippi maintains a 3.0 GPA and has already reached a qualifying score of 22 on the ACT.
