Big-time OL/DL will visit
Brandon Clemons is one of Pennsylvania's top rising senior offensive linemen and the recruiting battle for him is sure to be fierce. Clemons plans on taking all of his official visits before he makes his decision so he appears to be settled in for the long haul.
At 6-foot-4 and 255-pound Clemons is not a towering figure and he's not yet the kind of guy that makes you look twice when he gets off the bus. However, he doesn't carry any bad weight, has a high level of athleticism for a line prospect, and is stronger than a lot of players who are bigger than he is.
Schools up and down the east coast, ranging from UConn to South Carolina to West Virginia, have offered scholarships to Clemons. It's clear that coaches have tagged him as an important recruit that would be an excellent addition to their classes, and UConn is one of the schools that likes him a lot.
"I talked to coach (Randy) Edsall about two weeks ago. I gave him a call and we just talked about football stuff," Clemons recalled. "We talked about life, too. He's a nice guy ... a very hands-on coach. He's down to earth and to the point.
"I've been down there and they've got a good program going on over there. They have a lot of depth on their team. That's a good thing. I think I'll be taking another visit because it's pretty close to here. It's not too far so I can do it easily."
The Milford (Pa.) Delaware Valley prospect hasn't made any progress in narrowing his list, so no schools are at the top of his list. He might know more after the summer.
"I haven't (visited) any schools the past few months but I do have a few coming up in June," he said. "I'm going out to a few schools but not for camps, just for unofficial visits. I'm probably going to Penn State, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, UConn and Rutgers. I'm not sure if all that is in June but it's coming up."
Clemons plans on taking his official visits before making his decision either late this year or closer to National Signing Day.
