Pads were poppin' on day 14
Back in full pads, the Beavs practiced in the intermittent rain today inside Reser. Brennan Olander was MIA, Kevan Walker wasn't dressed down, and Keo Camat was back on the field and running with the 1's at outside backer in place of Devin Unga.
A great sight to see was Keith Pankey walking the Reser stairs with no walking cast. Pankey didn't seem to have a limp, but you could see the difference in muscle tone from his injured leg. A long road ahead, but certainly a step in the right direction for the potential starter at outside backer.
Much has been talked about recently concerning moving Michael Philipp inside to the guard spot. Wilder McAndrews would seem to be the left tackle in that scenario and today Taylor Henry had his way off the edge.
The defense does know the snap count in the spring and fall as mentioned before, but Wilder's first step is just too slow at this point in the season. Ryan Katz was constantly pressured from his blind side, forcing an early throw or flushing him out of the pocket. Early on Katz struggled due to the speed rush from Henry.
