Schools taking notice of Turner

Last season Paul Turner quarterbacked West Monroe (La.) to an undefeated record and a Class 5A State Championship.

Turner's feats have not gone unnoticed by college recruiters either. The 5-foot-11, 190-pounder has already picked up three scholarship offers and could add to that list very soon.

"Everything with recruiting has been going fine," Turner said. "I received another offer from Louisiana Tech this past weekend. It seems like everything is starting to pickup like I'd hoped. Hopefully I'll continue to receive offers."

Turner's Louisiana Tech offer joins scholarships on the table from Louisiana-Monroe and TCU. He is also receiving interest from Mississippi State, Arkansas and North Carolina.

Turner made a visit to MSU for their junior day back in February and walked away impressed with what the Bulldogs have to offer.

"On the visit we just took a tour around the campus," Turner said. "We went and saw some of the dorms and some of the facilities. They sat down and talked to us one-on-one and told us how college life was going to be. They just tried to give us an example of how it would be if we went to Mississippi State. They have some very nice facilities and a great coaching staff. Everything went well."

State has been in contact with Turner recently which has him hopeful that an offer could be forthcoming soon.
