Hawkeyes in the top five for big RB
As big, bruising running back Rodney Coe continues to rack up scholarship offers from around the country, an early list of favorites is beginning to emerge The 6-foot-3, 235-pound Coe, who is from Edwardsville, Illinois, says he is still open to any of the schools recruiting him, but currently has five at the top - Iowa, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Alabama.
Coe, who is also getting interest as a linebacker, says that all five of his favorites have offered at running back. Last season, the highly recruited junior carried the ball 106 times for 978 yards and 12 touchdowns despite missing some time with a broken hand. Running a 4.54 forty at 235 pounds, he has a combination of size and speed that few can match and has drawn some interesting comparisons among college coaches, including Brandon Jacobs, Michael Bush, and Adrian Peterson.
Along with his five favorites, Coe also holds scholarship offers from Missouri, Illinois, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, and Michigan State, among others.
