All about the coaches
Micah Robinson said on Sunday night that he would make his commitment a day later on Monday and that held true. Robinson picked the Orange over Akron and several other programs.
What exactly was it that put the Syracuse Orange over the top?
"It was the coaches," Robinson said. "Coach Marrone stuck out because he is like a player's coach because he knows how his players feel because he has been in the same situation. When he came out of high school he was recruited like most of us to play big time college ball. Also Coach Brumbaugh, I like everything he does and the way he breaks things down for you and shows you how to do things with proper technique."
Robinson, 6-foot-3, 230 pounds was excited about his choice, but he was not the only one glad to hear the good news.
"The Syracuse coaches were excited and Coach Brumbaugh said that I made his day. Coach Marrone was very excited as well."
On Sunday the defensive end prospect said he would make a decision on Monday, but his decision did not just come to him. There was not one single moment that gave the Orange the nod, rather there was a day filled with weighing his options.
"Sometime Monday afternoon, when I got out of school I knew. I was thinking about it during the day."
Now that he is set to join the Orange his mind is focused on one item when it comes to playing football in Syracuse.
"My main goal is to help bring a championship back to Syracuse."
How exactly does he plan to help the Orange?
"I am a big pass rushing guy and I use my speed and power to get sacks."
During his senior season Robinson recorded double digit sacks for his John Adams squad. As he prepares to keep those numbers up in college the two star prospect had admitted he will have to work hard on and off the field to prove himself.
