Davis Isn't Worried About Big Stars

While many recruits admit to clamming up around the nation's elite head coaches such is not the case for Hunter Davis. Like every other recruit the Choctaw, Okla. native has seen the famous faces of college football on his television for years and years but when your family is near-royalty at one of the game's premier programs your mindset can be a bit different.

Such is the case for the 6-foot-3, 245-pound defensive end/linebacker prospect who is the son of a former Sooner as well as the nephew of two-time national championship quarterback Steve Davis. The elder Davis helped lead his teammates to Barry Switzer's first of three national titles.

It's no surprise that since early on Davis has been inundated with Sooner lore and as such meeting Bob Stoops during Oklahoma's recent Sooner State junior day wasn't quite the daunting moment it's been for other prospects in years past.

"It's completely normal, it wasn't nervous or anything. I was right at home talking to (Brent) Venables or Stoops. It was the first time I had a lot of chance to talk with coach Stoops, it was a little awkward compared to the other coaches but we're just getting to know each other."
