Another day of fun in the sun for Bruins

It was a good energetic practice Friday under the warmth of the sun. The practice culminated with the scout team scrimmaging against one another and CU transfer Josh Smith was an unfair advantage for the offense. He is going to be very good next year for the Bruins.

Tight end Joseph Fauria also made an outstanding one-handed grab in traffic that would have been a first down.

Aaron Hester was given some reps and showed off his physicality. All in all it was great fun for the scout team, who puts in hard work all week long to help the team prepare for Saturday's.

Jayson Allmond continues to wear the number of 48 in honor (or dishonor) for his team low score of 48 when the team went bowling on Wednesday.

After the practice was over UCLA head coach Rick Neuheisel talked with the media about the day's events.

It wasn't fair letting Josh Smith play in the scout game…

Neuheisel: "It is fun to see those guys get a chance to play a little a bit. As we have said many times, it's the benefit of bowl season.

"It was a good practice today. It was a good first day for Temple preparation. We will get another polish day tomorrow and the kids will get a chance to go to Magic Mountain and we will keep on our way to hopefully play in a great game in Washington DC."
