Turner sees rivalry games, picks up offers
Arlington (TX) Sam Houston quarterback Jamal Turner rushed for 1,809 yards and threw for another 1,816 this past season, accounting for over 30 touchdowns all by himself on a 3-7 team. Most of the time, those numbers would be guaranteed to win a prospect a scholarship offer as a quarterback. However, in Turner's case, he's got the size (6-foot, 170 pounds) and speed (4.5 seconds in the forty-yard dash) to play any number of other positions.
As a result, even though Turner's first offer from Nebraska was as at quarterback, he has received multiple ones since at other positions. Last week, he received an offer from Texas A&M as a cornerback and took in the A&M-Texas game on Thanksgiving night. He arrived two hours before game time, which gave him a unique opportunity to meet with A&M coaches and tour the facilities.
