Malena enjoys visit to College Station

Cedar Hill running back and Texas A&M commit Ben Malena had originally planned to take an official visit to College Station this past weekend for the Aggies' game with Iowa State. However, unlike fellow A&M commits Domonique Patterson and Corey Nelson from Dallas Skyline, Malena had a game Friday night which kept him from heading to A&M until Saturday. Since the NCAA permits official visits to be up to 48 hours in length from the time the prospect arrives on campus, the A&M coaching staff and Malena decided it would be better if he could wait to take an official visit when he could spend the maximum amount of time on A&M's campus.

But that didn't stop Malena from heading down to A&M on Saturday to see A&M play in person for the second time this year. Even though A&M beat UAB 56-19 in September when he took his first unofficial visit to College Station, he was much more impressed with A&M's 35-10 win on Saturday despite the smaller margin of victory this time around.

The 5-foot-9, 201-pound four-star prospect committed to Texas A&M over scholarship offers from Baylor, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, Texas Tech and Wisconsin.
