Tennessee heads into the bye-week at the midpoint of the season with on the heels of a confidence-boosting 45-19 whipping of Georgia on Saturday. The win was exactly what this team needed after an up-and-down start to 2009, and here are five guys who made it happen.
Movers & Shakers: Week One
Jonathan Crompton Quarterback 6-4, 228 pounds Senior Status: Coming off best game of his career against UGA
Why He's Here: Crompton put together his finest effort under center on Saturday in leading the Vols to a 45-19 win over Georgia. The senior was 20-for-27 with four touchdown passes and had his first 300-yard passing day (310). He had one interception on the day that was returned for a touchdown in the third quarter, but bounced back strong, completing his next five passes after the miscue. Crompton got a helping hand from his offensive line--and a game plan that kept him in rhythm--but he did the heavy lifting himself, delivering the ball accurately and on time against a secondary that had holes in it all day long. The hope here is obviously that Crompton uses Saturday as a stepping stone heading into the last half of the season.
