Mississippi State will continue the NCAA's toughest schedule attempting to snap a two-game losing skid today taking on Houston for Homecoming.
The Cougars come to Starkville with the nation's top offense and a Heisman candidate at quarterback to face MSU for the third time in the last six seasons at 11:30 a.m.
Houston has won six of the last seven meetings and hold the series edge 8-6. The Cougars have also won three of their last four trips to Davis Wade Stadium.
It was a record setting day the last time these two teams took the field back in 2005. State running back Jerious Norwood set the single game school record rushing for 257 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries but it still was not enough to stop the Cougars from taking a 28-16 win back to Texas.
Mississippi State is 2-3 on the year and will try to rebound from a 42-31 loss last week to Georgia Tech. The Bulldogs rolled up 487 yards but could not overcome five turnovers. MSU has given the ball away nine times in the past two games.
