Following the Future: Basketball
Following the Future - Find out how the future Bulldogs have been performing this season in this weekly feature. Get a summary on the three 2008 signees and single 2009 commitment are doing as they head for the playoffs. UGASports was on the road to see a couple of the future Dawgs in action last week and here is our report.
It's the home stretch for these high school hoopsters as they prepare themselves for postseason play. Whether it's jockeying for region seeds or polishing up on team play, these kids are ready for their title runs.
Following the Future
6-foot-8 - Wing - Patterson Prep School (Lenior, N.C.)
"I'm at Patterson Prep now and things are great. I chose to come here so I can play against better competition and become a stronger player. We play tougher teams as the number one rated prep school and since we are an independent school, we can play as many as we want."
"I am getting a lot better in practice, which is exactly what I wanted to accomplish. There are 15 division 1A players on this team, so actual playing time is shared and valuable. I have played three games so far and have had 15, 10, and 20 points. My defensive ability is improving everyday and I have twenty more games this regular season."
6-foot-8 - Forward - Wesleyan (Norcross, Ga.)
"We lost our second in state game to a Tucker team that we should have beat. It was a very completive game that we had until we succumbed to their pressure in the fourth quarter. It showed us we have things that we need to work on as a team."
"The Decatur and Avondale games were both manageable because we had already played them once. We knew what to expect and were able to iron out the mistakes exposed in the Tucker game."
