Georgia gets commit number one for 2008

The University of Georgia not only picked up a commitment for the class of 2007 after the camp last weekend, but they also picked up one for the class of 2008. One of the top prospects at the camp was athlete Cornelius Washington. Washington plays for Burke County High School in Waynesboro, Ga. This 2008 prospect impressed the UGA coaches enough over the weekend to pick up an offer and he acted on it immediately.


"They asked me to go up to Coach Richt's office after the camp and that is where they offered me a scholarship," said Washington.


"Coach Richt told me that they liked me and they would like for me to be a Bulldog. He let me know that they were offering me a scholarship and then he asked if I would like to commit?"


"I said yes sir. I told him I would like to be a Georgia Bulldog," said an excited Washington.


Coach Richt let this underclassman know what he just gave Georgia.
