Coffeyville Community College (Kan.) offensive lineman Mark Beard has ended a wild ride.
The JUCO standout has signed his Letter of Intent to attend the University of Georgia.
According to the Alabama native, he is ready to get on with the next phase of his life.
"Yes sir! I'm a Georgia Bulldog," said Beard. "I am ready to get to Athens and start working."
Things weren't always so certain for Beard, as he had a pretty unique path down the recruiting trail.
It wasn't until November that he cam on to the scene, and that is when things really began to heat up.
"I took a visit to Houston when ESPN Gameday was there in November," he said. "Then I took like three visits in 11 days to Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Georgia."
Although he was undecided through much of the process, his last offer gave him a good idea of where he could end up playing his college ball.
"I liked Arkansas and Mississippi State, and even Houston, but when Georgia offered, I knew how they were a great SEC school," he said. "I knew what I wanted to do.
Beard fills a big need for the Bulldogs, but make no mistake, he knows what he has to do to make an impact for his new team.
"I have to work," said Beard. "I have to get in there and make a difference."
