History will be repeated in the BCS national championship football game, it's just a matter of which team repeats it.
Ohio State (12-0) seeks to duplicate its 2003 feat when the Buckeyes came to Arizona (Tempe) and pulled off a stunning upset to win the national championship.
Meanwhile, Florida (12-1) hopes to do what the '03 Buckeyes did by winning a championship in its second season under a rising head coach.
Five years ago, second-year coach Jim Tressel guided No. 2 Ohio State to a 31-24 overtime victory over Miami, which gave the Buckeyes their first national championship in 34 years.
Florida hasn't had to wait that long, but the No. 2 Gators are hopeful that in their second season under coach Urban Meyer they can claim their first national championship in 10 years.
Tressel and Meyer, who are both Ohio natives, join former Boston College coach Tom O'Brien as the only coaches to guide their teams to bowl victories in each of the last three seasons.
