October 15, 2013ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia senior Arthur Lynch is one of 29 tight ends nationwide who has been named to the 2013 John Mackey Award Midseason Watch List.
The Dartmouth, Mass., native is one of only three players from the Southeastern Conference on the midseason list. The semifinalists for the Mackey Award will be announced on Nov. 18 while the finalists will be announced on Nov. 25. The nation's top tight end will be announced live on Dec. 12 at The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show in Orlando, Fla., at 6 p.m. on ESPNU.
At 6-5, 254 pounds, Lynch is fourth on the Bulldogs' receiving list with 13 catches for 205 yards (15.8 avg.) and two touchdowns through Georgia's first six games. He has highlighted his final season so far by snagging four balls for a career-high 85 yards and a score in the win over North Texas.
Fifteenth-ranked Georgia (4-2, 3-1 SEC) returns to action in Nashville, Tenn., to face Vanderbilt (3-3, 0-3) on Saturday at noon ET. CBS will televise the game.
