One day after giving Georgia his verbal commitment, Booneville, Miss. standout Kenny Paul Geno signed his letter-of-intent with the Bulldogs Thursday.
"We're very excited to add Kenny to our team," head coach Mark Fox said in a statement. "He's a great kid, a great student with high character, and I really like what he brings to the court. He can shoot it with long range. He can also play above the rim. We're looking forward to having him on campus and being part of our team."
During his tenure at Booneville, he helped lead his school to an 85-16 mark, including three straight trips to the Mississippi Class 3A state title game, winning the championship in 2011.
Last year Geno averaged 23.1 points and 12.5 rebounds in leading Booneville to a 26-5 mark. He was named by the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal as its 2013 Player of the Year. He was also named to the All-State First Team by the Jackson Clarion-Ledger newspaper. Geno averaged 13.5 points and 9.7 rebounds as a junior in 2012, when Booneville won 31 of 35 games.
He is the third Georgia signee of the Class of 2013 and the first to sign in the spring signing period, which began Wednesday and will continue until May 15. He joins early signees J.J. Frazier, a 5-10 guard from Glennville and Juwan Parker, a 6-5 guard from Tulsa, Okla.
