Georgia sports information Claude Felton confirmed Wednesday night that junior defensive lineman Kwame Geathers has declared for the NFL Draft.
The decision was not unexpected.
UGASports learned late last week from sources close to Geathers that he was turning pro before Wednesday's confirmation.
Members of the Geathers family have a history for leaving school early for the NFL, including brother Robert from Georgia - currently with the Cincinnati Bengals - along with former South Carolina defensive lineman Clifton.
Geathers is the third Bulldog to announce he's leaving early, joining linebackers Alec Ogletree and Jarvis Jones.
With senior John Jenkins also headed to the NFL, the Bulldogs are expected to turn to the trio of Mike Thornton, Jonathan Taylor and junior college transfer Chris Mayes to handle the nose position next fall.
