Evangel home to pair of top defenders
Shreveport (LA) Evangel Christian Academy has long been a hotbed for college recruiters. The school has produced numerous Division I stars over the years and things do not look to have not changed. The Eagles have several prospects in the class of 2010.
One of those players is defensive lineman Brandon Jackson. The 6-foot-4, 252-pound junior has already drawn the notice of several schools and has even gained his first offer from an SEC program.
"I've been getting quite a few looks; well, I've been getting a lot of looks," said Jackson. "There's really three schools that have shown the most interest, though. Those are the University of Arkansas, Kansas State University and Louisiana Tech University. The University of Arkansas sent me a letter offering me a scholarship so I've been dealing with them quite a bit.
"I've been getting looks from a lot of other colleges too, but those are the three that seem to be recruiting me the hardest."
However, another SEC program as well as a pair of Big 12 schools have also caught Jackson's eye.
"Honestly, I'm hoping to hear from LSU a little bit," he said. "I've also been hoping for Texas Tech and Texas A&M to recruit me a little more. Any Division I school, I'd be happy with but those are the three that I'm hoping to hear from more. I'd consider myself blessed to go anywhere, though.
