NU Notes: Huskers go outside for the first time
The Nebraska football team held their first outside practice of the spring on Monday. The previous 11 NU spring practices were held inside the Hawks Championship Indoor Facility.
Monday was also the Huskers first day back to practice since this past Saturday's scrimmage, and NU offensive coordinator Shawn Watson said several things stood out watching the film over the weekend.
Watson said junior quarterback Joe Ganz led Nebraska down the field on three nice scoring drives in the scrimmage.
Breaking down senior Sam Keller, Watson said the biggest thing he noticed was his numbers were hurt in the scrimmage because the wide receivers had several dropped balls.
"(Ganz) did a nice job of managing our offense," Watson said. "It was nothing spectacular, but that's the art of the quarterback in this offense-the spectacular part is being able to manage it and he did a really nice job.
"Sam (Keller) had some tough breaks with some dropped ball, but to his credit he stayed tough and competed. I think overall we are really pleased with how those guys have developed and where they're at right now."
