Practice Insider: USC addressing the run
A computer program has been generated by students at Northwestern that allow for game stories to be written based strictly on the box score.
If that program had been in place Friday evening for USC's first scrimmage of the year, the lack of a running game probably would've been a talking point in the story.
Joe McKnight, C.J. Gable, Stafon Johnson and Allen Bradford combined to rush for just 29 yards on 14 carries.
"I made some generalizations to the team that I thought we needed to run harder with the football," USC head coach Pete Carroll said. "I didn't think our group of running backs really hit it like we can."
