Molesi makes the call
Oregon State has had a long standing tradition of recruiting a large number of Polynesian players who have excelled on the gridiron for the Beavers. From Joe Francis to Inoke Breckterfield to Lyle Moevao, the Polynesian family at Oregon State is a big draw for many current prospects. The Beavers took another step yesterday in adding to that legacy when Oceanside, California defensive tackle Thomas Molesi verbally committed to play for Coach Riley.
The 6-foot-2, 280 pound lineman has been a fan of Oregon State for years, and was ecstatic when Reggie Davis and Joe Seumalo extended the offer.
"As soon as they (Oregon State) offered I knew that I wanted to play there," Molesi said. "I have always dreamed of playing for Oregon State since I was a little kid. It has been fun watching them beat USC lately."
It is still fairly early in the recruiting process, but after much thought and deliberation with family and friends, Molesi recently narrowed his list of offers to four. He then decided that the time was right to make his decision.
"I had made a list of my top four which included Oregon State, San Diego State, Texas A & M, and BYU," Molesi said. "I've talked it over with my family and decided that I wanted to commit to Oregon State, my family is really excited."
