A new name emerges in Dallas/Fort Worth
In the world of football recruiting there is only one 'Poly', but that may be about to change because even if Ft. Worth Polytechnic athlete Duran Hollis thinks of himself as a basketball prospect schools are taking notice of him on the gridiron. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound prospect has made his name as a hardwood prospect but more and more schools are taking notice of him for his football talent.
Oklahoma's Cale Gundy recently stopped by Poly along with coaches from both Baylor and Oklahoma State to get a look at the talented running back.
"They came in, I think that was about two weeks ago," Hollis said. "It was kind of a surprise, really I always thought of myself as a basketball player.
"Baylor and Oklahoma State came by too.
"I've also gotten calls from Houston, Texas A&M, SMU, and a couple of other schools."
