Cain decides on TCU
When Kenny Cain came to Ft. Worth, he didn't know what to expect. One look at what TCU had to offer and the Louisiana native was sold. PurpleMenace.Com caught up with Kenny today to get his take on his visit and on what made him choose TCU.
"My visit went great" said Cain. "I liked it a lot. I got to spend time with the coaching staff and the players, kind of hung out and had fun."
With offers on the table from Tulane and Northern Illinois, what was it about TCU that made the star athlete pull the trigger in favor of the Frogs?
"The campus and facilitues were nice" he said. "The thing that caught my eye the most is the classroom size. I'm not just going to be another person in the class, there will only be like 14 people to a class there with me so it's a lot like my classes at John Curtis."
With Cain now in the fold, the Frogs add yet another impressive athlete to the nation's best defense. With legit 4.6 speed, Cain will have an opportunity to come in and play as a freshman. Of course, it's all up to how quickly he adjusts to the speed of the college game.
"The coaches told me I had a chance to play my freshman year" said Cain. "I like the sound of playing linebacker for a great defense. I've been following TCU and I watched them play Boise St. in the bowl game so I knew what their defense was all about."
With signing day right around the corner it will be interesting to see who the Frogs pull in as their final pieces of the puzzle for 2009. Cain is a big commitment and he should add another superior athlete to the already lethal defense. The star from John Curtis had one more thing he wanted to add before our interview concluded.
"I just wanted to tell the fans to expect nothing but the best from me" said Cain. "I can't promise that every game will be a great game but I can promise I'm going to give it my best and go 100% on every play."
