Meredith Among Weekend Visits

GoWyoGo.com The Cowboys will welcome at least 14 prospects into Laramie the weekend of January 16th - 18th for a second round of visits. Dave Christensen's staff has 10 committed players-to-date and one signed with approximately another 11 to 13 scholarships available before the February 4th signing day. Wyoming will continue to focus on high school recruits with minimum emphasis on the junior college route. Early signee Robert Benjamin, a quarterback was the only JC player to visit Laramie.
California high school product Austyn Carta-Samuels who visit UW last weekend is a major priority for the staff and will receive an home visit from Christensen. Samuels comes highly regarded as a dual-threat quarterback. The Pokes appear to have a blue chip running back or two in the mix leaning Wyoming's direction.
Green River native and Defensive Back prospect Andrew Meredith will lead the group of visits this weekend. Meredith has been approached by the University of Utah to join them as a walk-on and the new staff asked Meredith to visit Laramie before deciding. Meredith has not been offered a D1 scholarship to-date. He is considered a sleeper prospect on some recruiting fronts and possesses a good understanding of the game.
Wide Recever Sherman Brown will visit Laramie after soft verbal commit to Louisiana Tech and received offers from Colorado State, New Mexico, and Utah with his above average speed, good hands, and ability to run good routes. He was clocked at 4.48 in the forty-yard dash and a 32 inch vertical jump.
Defensive Line visit Scott Criss is being pursued by Nebraska for their elite walk-on program has an offer on the table from the Cowboys. The UW staff likes his tenacity as an interior linemen.
Mark Willis, a defensive linemen prospect from Illinois has two offers from MAC schools (Northern Ilinois and Akron) has just received recent interest from the Cowboys. He's shows athleticism and passing rushing skills, and will need to gain size for the next level.
