Foster discusses decision
"Well as you know, I had been down to Vanderbilt, Ole Miss and Northwestern. A couple of days after the Ole Miss trip, they had told me that they had all of their scholarships taken already so it was really down to Vanderbilt and Northwestern at that point.
"When I went on my trip to Northwestern, they kept saying that if there's a university for you, that you would have a certain feeling inside you. I just don't think I had that feeling when I went there. I felt like I connected a lot more with Vanderbilt's coaches and when I get on campus, I think I'm going to have that certain feeling that they were talking about, that I fit there. There's something inside of me that tells me that this is the place where I need to be.
"Coach Belin is a real honest guy, he's been straight forward. He's not going to always tell you what you want to hear, he's going to tell you the truth. He's been looking out for me. He was telling me to check with all of my schools and make sure they had enough scholarships because he doesn't want me to end up with nowhere to go at the end of the day. He's been telling me that to make sure I'm okay, whether I decided to go there or not. That was really important to me."
"Also, the SEC played into it a little bit because it's a big conference, and it would be pretty time to play against some of the best teams in the nation."
"I caught a couple of their games, but I mostly had to read up on them a little after because they didn't always play those games [on TV] down here."
"They've kind of hinted that I might be a D.J. Moore type, that I might get a little bit of receiving time but nothing major right now. Just kind of hinted at it."
11 offers. Ole Miss, Northwestern and Iowa State officially.
"I think my best strength would be my recovery speed right now. I'd say I have pretty decent route recognition as far as down and distance and realizing what the opponents trying to do, even momentum and things like that."
"I think I just need to get a little bigger, a little stronger for college because it's going be a lot bigger game up there, I'm going to be going against some pretty big, pretty fast guys. So I just need to stay in the weight room and work on that and my conditioning and things. I'm not exactly sure what I'll need to know though, I'm sure when I get there the coaches will let me know what my weaknesses are and how I can improve those."
On senior season
"I think I could've done better personally but we had a great team this year so I didn't necessarily need to. We had great players at all positions, so I didn't really need to be outstanding this year for us to make the good run like we did. So it was really just a team as a whole. I didn't need to be some kind of dynamic playmaker or anything, I could just play my part and that's all they needed out of me."
"I've been looking into things like computer or mechanical engineering right now but that could change at any time. I'm still kind of deciding right now what I want to do, that's just what I'm leaning towards."
