Wideout has CSU on top of his list
Two-star recruit Michael Harrison has netted his first scholarship offer as Colorado State University threw their hat in the ring recently. Harrison is a 6-foot-2, 195-pounder with 4.5 speed and better than 500 yards receiving this season for Hillcrest High School out of Dallas.
Hillcrest lost their first district game on Friday, but is still looking like a playoff contender thanks in part to Harrison and his versatility. Thus far he has 30 catches for 547 yards, 300 yards rushing and another 60 passing after seeing time at running back, receiver and quarterback. Despite lining up at several positions in high school, Harrison said he will be a wideout in college.
"I think I am better out there (receiver) than anywhere else," Harrison said. "It doesn't really matter where I play, but I want to try to play early."
Harrison said he has played in the spread offense for the past four years and wants to find a football team that enjoys airing it out. In addition to his scholarship offer from Colorado State, Harrison said he is also taking phone calls from Louisiana Tech as well as Louisiana-Monroe and Kansas.
Harrison said he has Colorado State at the top of his list and is hoping to make it out for a visit after the season, noting his recruiting contact at CSU is Coach Tim Duffy.
"They are at the top," said Harrison of CSU. "I really don't know when I am going to make my decision. Right now I want to work hard, do my best this season and keep my grades up when I get to college."
Currently Harrison sports a 2.3 GPA and a 17 on his ACT.
