Sooners Showing Interest in Irving Safety

SoonerScoop.com It's been a few years since Oklahoma had much success, or interest, in the Irving, Texas area but that looks to be coming to an end with the class of 2010 with several prospects receiving interest. Of that group, perhaps the biggest name is Nimitz high's Eddrick Loften. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound Loften is one of the early favorites to be among Texas' top defensive back prospects.
That reputation wasn't hurt by his performances at a pair of camps at Big 12 South rivals Oklahoma and Texas.
"I think I did pretty well, I thought I covered pretty good," Loften said of the one-on-one scenarios at camps. "Coach Bobby Jack Wright liked that I was physical with the receivers."
Loften, and his Nimitz teammates are fresh off back-to-back losses after starting the season with a 20-12 win over Haltom.
