Ivy emerges as leader of young LB corps
MORGANTOWN--As he crossed the goal line to complete his 29-yard return of an errant throw by Villanova's Antwon Young, West Virginia linebacker Mortty Ivy would have been justified in turning around to check for yellow flags. After all, he had been down the same path last season, only to have a returned fumble against Mississippi State called back.
This time around, however, Ivy didn't have to worry about whether his six points would stand. "I couldn't really turn around anyway, because everybody on my team was jumping on my head," Ivy said after his No. 8 Mountaineers defeated Villanova 48-21 on Saturday. "That's when I knew there were no penalties."
