Catching up with Mayfield
Kipp Adams
UGASports.com With the AAU season adding more and more to basketball player's workload, basketball has joined football as a year round sport. We caught up with UGA Commit Demario Mayfield of Franklin County for this exclusive UGASports Q&A.
How has the summer been for you so far?
"So far it's been real good. I have been traveling a lot with AAU and some ALL- American camps, but so far it has been enjoyable."
How has AAU been for you?
"It has been good, it is showing me where I am and what I need to do to get better."
Are you able to relax like other students, or is basketball become a year round focus?
"I never take time off, it's a 365 a year thing now. After family and school, then it's all about basketball."
How do you feel about the direction of the UGA Hoops program?
"They had a successful season when a lot of people doubted them. I think losing Billy hurts, but these guys are hungry to take his place. They brought a great bunch of incoming players and Coach Felton is a good coach. I know he will have them on right track and wining, I have no doubt."
