Gholston likes idea of playing two sports
EAST LANSING - Detroit Southeastern junior Will Gholston was at Michigan State last month with the Jungaleers basketball team for the Tom Izzo Spartan Shootout. He was back on campus on Saturday for Michigan State's July football camp.
Michigan State is looking at Gholston as a two-sport athlete in the mold of Matt Trannon who thrived in both football and basketball at Michigan State.
On the basketball court, Gholston and Southeastern teammate Percy Gibson possess the potential to develop into one of the more deadly frontcourt tandems in the state. On the football field, Gholston could play a number of postions. Michigan State is recruiting him as a big-bodied athlete who could project at defensive end, tight end, or even linebacker.
