For the first time in nearly four years, Indiana's defense has to find two new starting cornerbacks during spring football, now that longtime fixtures Leslie Majors and Tracy Porter have graduated.
The shoe-in for one of the vacant spots is senior Christopher Phillips, who started last year against Ball State and played in all 13 games. Phillips, at 6-0, 195 pounds, offers a different kind of look at the position than Majors and Porter. He is bigger and probably more physical than his two predecessors. Phillips played well when he got on the field last year, running an interception back for a touchdown against Ball State. He finished last season in a tie for first in the team's forced fumbles category.
