Three-star River Ridge (La.) John Curtis safety P.J. Smith (6-2, 205, 4.65) first grew to know Baylor Defensive Coordinator Brian Norwood when he was at Penn St. When Norwood took the job at Baylor he let the safety prospect know the Bears were interested in his services.

Over the weekend Smith made the trip from Louisiana to Texas to check out Baylor's campus.
