There's no doubting the football ability of Sal Battles. The 5-foot-10, 221-pounder from East High in Youngstown, Ohio excels on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.

College coaches recognized his talents too. He was offered scholarships by several schools including Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Miami (Ohio) and Toledo. But, what he was looking for was a school that would give him the chance to play on offense in college.
