Rumors run rampant
Arkansas Coach Houston Nutt was pleased with how his players played against Mississippi State on Saturday in Little Rock's War Memorial Stadium.
The Razorbacks, led by quarterback Casey Dick and tailback Darren McFadden, helped lead Arkansas to a 45-31 victory to move to 7-4 on the season. Arkansas will face No. 1 LSU on Friday in Baton Rouge at 1:30 on CBS.
"I was really proud of the effort," Nutt said. "Our seniors probably played their best ballgame. All our seniors left it out there.
Farod Jackson, Marcus Harrison, Marcus Monk, and those guys really just played very hard and did a good job leading our team, Kevin Woods, you just go on and on. Fred Bledsoe probably played the best game since he has been here."
The win assured Arkansas of going to a bowl. Most likely, it will be one of the four that was in attendance on Saturday. The Cotton, Liberty, Independence and Chick-Fil-A Bowls watched Arkansas roll over the Bulldogs. Regardless of where the Razorbacks end up bowling, Nutt feels this team is worthy of consideration to any bowl.
"You've got a team with a lot of heart and a lot of desire," Nutt said. "I just love the effort they gave us. It took every player on that sideline, that was a good football team. We earned every yard. You can see why they beat Auburn, Alabama and Kentucky. You have to give Mississippi State a lot of credit."
